Three questions, three packs, one clear route.
You tell us what the estate looks like. We build your personalised pack around the specific institutions, tax position, and registry involved. You apply with confidence, knowing every document is correct for your case.
Answer the questions
Between 12 and 28 questions depending on your pack. Covers the deceased, the assets, the beneficiaries, and the likely tax position. Takes 10 to 15 minutes.
We generate your pack
Your answers drive every output. Letters are pre-filled with the deceased's details. Tax sheets use the 2026 thresholds. The probate affidavit references your specific Grant type. Nothing generic.
Apply with confidence
Your pack arrives by email in under two minutes. PDF, DOCX, and Excel files. Everything you need to notify institutions, file with Revenue, and lodge at the Probate Office.
The four things every Irish probate needs.
A solicitor's invoice covers all of these. So do our packs. The difference is the price: €79 to €449 instead of €2,000 to €10,000.
SA2 & tax
Revenue Statement of Affairs (SA2) briefing and CAT calculations per beneficiary, using current 2026 thresholds.
Institution letters
Personalised notification and release letters for 25 Irish institutions: AIB, Bank of Ireland, PTSB, credit unions, pension providers, utilities.
Probate affidavit
Draft executor/administrator oath correctly structured for your specific Grant type, with appointment briefing for your registry.
Post-Grant walkthrough
Step-by-step guide to collecting assets, paying debts, requesting Revenue clearance, and distributing to beneficiaries.
Eight common situations. All supported.
If your situation fits any of these, a ProbatePack pack is designed for your case. Some are supported at entry tier; some need the Complete Bundle; two are honest solicitor referrals.
First-time executor
Named executor in a parent's will. Never done probate before. Want to handle it yourself but not sure where to start.
Start here →No will (intestacy)
Someone died without a will. You need Letters of Administration and the estate distributed under Section 67 Succession Act 1965.
See the intestacy route →Inheritance tax (CAT) estate
Estate above the Group A threshold. CAT calculations, IT38 drafts, Dwelling House Exemption and Section 72 optimisation.
See the tax layer →Family home inheritance
Inheriting the parental home. Want to check Dwelling House Exemption eligibility and claim it correctly to avoid a €30k-€130k CAT charge.
Check DHE eligibility →Non-resident executor
Based overseas but named executor for an Irish estate. Need to handle probate from abroad and coordinate with Irish institutions.
Supported end-to-end →Surviving spouse
Your spouse or civil partner has died. Need to transfer sole-name assets, update property title, and confirm your CAT position.
See the spouse route →Farm or business assets
Estate includes a working farm or business shares. Agricultural Relief and Business Relief both apply. This usually needs a solicitor.
Honest referral →Contested or disputed
Someone is challenging the will, or a family dispute is brewing. This is outside the scope of DIY probate. A solicitor is the right call.
Honest referral →Start where you are. Upgrade if needed.
A solicitor's probate engagement costs €2,000 to €10,000 and takes three to six weeks before they lodge anything. ProbatePack delivers the same paperwork in minutes, at a tenth of the cost, for estates within DIY scope.

Anchored in the statute, not AI guesswork.
Every CAT figure uses the thresholds in Part 5 of the Capital Acquisitions Tax Consolidation Act 2003, amended to reflect the October 2024 changes that brought Group A to €400,000. Every intestacy distribution uses Part VI of the Succession Act 1965. Every Dwelling House Exemption test applies the five Section 86 conditions. Every Section 72 check uses the qualifying policy criteria in the 2003 Act.
The system was built by Justin O'Brien, a SEAI-registered assessor operating in Dublin since 2009, with direct experience of Irish property administration, Revenue filings, and the specific institutional quirks of every Irish bank, credit union, and pension provider. No offshore content mill, no generic template from another jurisdiction.
Words from people who used the packs.
[Placeholder quote: a first-time executor handling a parent's estate describes how the Preparation Pack gave them the SA2 and 25 letters pre-drafted, and they lodged at the Dublin Probate Office within ten days without a solicitor.]
[Placeholder quote: a beneficiary near the Group A threshold describes how the Complete Bundle's CAT calculation and Dwelling House Exemption assessment saved them a five-figure sum and spared them a solicitor's tax-structuring fee.]
[Placeholder quote: a non-resident executor coordinating an Irish estate from abroad describes how the 25 institution letters and the registry briefing made the remote application workable.]
Common questions.
Is this legal advice?
No. ProbatePack produces preparation documents that personal applicants would otherwise draft themselves. The work is clerical and procedural, not legal. If your situation involves a contested will, business assets, foreign property, or relief structuring above €1.5 million, you need a solicitor, and we will tell you so in the Readiness Check.
Why trust this over the free guidance on Revenue.ie or Citizens Information?
Revenue and Citizens Information publish excellent reference material. They tell you the rules. They do not apply the rules to your specific estate. ProbatePack does the translation work: the pre-filled SA2 with your answers in the right boxes, the 25 institution letters with the deceased's details in the salutation, the CAT calculation run for each beneficiary with their relationship and prior gifts, the Dwelling House Exemption test against the five Section 86 conditions with the age waiver and retention rules applied. You can do this from the Revenue guidance yourself, and many people do. The packs exist for the people who would rather spend €79 to €449 than five to twenty hours of their own time translating rules into paperwork.
How fast do I get the pack?
Under two minutes of completing the checkout. The generator runs immediately on payment confirmation. The files arrive by email as PDFs, DOCX, and Excel attachments. There is no human review queue.
What if the Probate Office has a question about my application?
Every Preparation Pack and Complete Bundle includes an appointment briefing that anticipates the most common queries raised by the Probate Office for your specific registry. If a query does come up, the pack includes the data you need to respond, plus follow-up letters you can use as templates.
How does the refund work?
Thirty-day quality refund. If any document in your pack contains a factual error traceable to our system (not to information you gave us), we refund the full amount, no questions asked. If you change your mind after receiving the pack, we cannot refund because the work has been delivered.
Why is this so much cheaper than a solicitor?
Because we do the preparation, not the representation. A solicitor is representing you to the Probate Office and takes on professional liability for your application. That is worth €2,000 to €10,000 for many estates. We prepare the paperwork you would lodge yourself, which takes us minutes once you answer the questions. We do not charge for professional liability, court representation, or ongoing client management.
Do I still need to deal with Revenue?
Yes. You file the SA2 on Revenue myAccount and, if CAT is due, each beneficiary files their own IT38. Our packs give you a pre-drafted SA2 and pre-calculated IT38 figures so the filings take minutes. We do not file to Revenue on your behalf.
