Terms of service

Terms that apply when you use this site or purchase any ProbatePack product. Written plainly. Last updated April 2026.

What ProbatePack is, and what it is not

ProbatePack.ie is a preparation service for Irish personal probate applicants. The products on this site are structured templates, worksheets, walkthroughs, and personalised reports designed to help you prepare your own probate application.

ProbatePack is not a law firm. ProbatePack does not provide legal advice. Products from ProbatePack are not a substitute for a solicitor's opinion on your specific circumstances. If your estate involves a contested will, overseas assets, business or agricultural property, minor or incapacitated beneficiaries, a Section 117 claim, or any other feature of complexity, you should instruct a solicitor and not rely on ProbatePack products.

Who can use ProbatePack

ProbatePack products are designed for personal applicants dealing with estates of people who died in the Republic of Ireland, under Irish probate and inheritance tax law. Products are not suitable for Northern Irish, UK, or non-Irish estates.

You must be at least 18 years old and ordinarily resident in the Republic of Ireland or the European Economic Area to purchase.

What you agree to when you buy

By completing a purchase, you agree that:

  • You have read the scope of the product on its product page
  • You understand that the product is preparation support, not legal advice
  • You will not rely solely on the product if your situation has complexity triggers listed on the solicitor check page
  • You will verify current statutory thresholds, processing times, and institutional requirements directly with Revenue, the Probate Office, and each relevant institution before acting on them
  • You will not redistribute the product, its templates, or its text to third parties

Scope of deliverables

Each product has a scope set out on its product page. We deliver what is listed on that page. We do not:

  • Represent you before the Probate Office
  • File the SA2 or the probate application on your behalf
  • Provide individualised legal opinion on your specific circumstances
  • Guarantee that your application will be accepted without queries
  • Guarantee a specific Probate Office processing time
  • Provide ongoing correspondence with beneficiaries, Revenue, or the Probate Office

Refund policy

Full refund details are on the refund policy page. The short version:

  • If a product has a factual error, missing component, or quality issue that we cannot correct within five working days, we refund in full.
  • If you purchase a product and later realise your situation is not suitable for DIY (for example, a complexity trigger applies), contact us. We will consider a partial refund case by case, recognising that most of the cost of delivery is already incurred once the PDF has been generated.
  • We do not refund "I changed my mind after receiving the PDF" after the delivery email has been sent, because the main cost of producing your personalised report has already been incurred.

Limitation of liability

We take reasonable care to keep ProbatePack content accurate and current. Nevertheless:

  • ProbatePack is not liable for any Probate Office rejection, Revenue query, CAT assessment, financial loss, missed deadline, or other consequence arising from your use of a ProbatePack product.
  • Our total liability for any product or service on this site is limited to the amount you paid for that product.
  • ProbatePack makes no warranty that content on this site is fit for any particular purpose beyond general preparation support.

This limitation does not affect your statutory consumer rights under Irish law.

All content on this site, and all content delivered as part of a ProbatePack product, is copyright ProbatePack.ie. You may print and use a product for your own personal probate application, but you may not redistribute, resell, republish, or incorporate the content into another product or service.

Quotes of up to 50 words with a visible link back to the source page on ProbatePack.ie are permitted for editorial use.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always at probatepack.ie/terms/ with the Updated date shown at the top. Purchases made before a change are governed by the terms that were live at the time of purchase.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

If you have a complaint, contact justin@probatepack.ie first. We aim to resolve any reasonable complaint within five working days. If that does not work, you can refer the matter to the European Online Dispute Resolution platform or the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission in Ireland.
