Who this is for

The Complete Bundle is for estates that will pay inheritance tax (CAT).

In practice, that means any estate where a non-spouse beneficiary is inheriting more than €400,000 from a parent, or more than €40,000 from an uncle, aunt, brother or sister, or more than €20,000 from anyone else. With Dublin, Cork and Galway property prices, this now includes most families inheriting a family home.

If your Readiness Check (€79) said the estate is likely to cross a threshold, this is the right pack. If it recommended the Preparation Pack instead, you probably do not need this tier.

The difference between doing inheritance tax right and doing it wrong can be tens of thousands of euro. For a Dublin family home inherited by one child, the Dwelling House Exemption alone can save €30,000 to €130,000 in CAT. The Complete Bundle is designed to make sure you claim every relief you are entitled to.

What you get

Everything in the Preparation Pack (all 16 items), plus the full inheritance-tax layer:

Inheritance tax (CAT). the main reason for this pack

  1. CAT Calculator (PDF + XLSX). works out exactly how much inheritance tax each beneficiary will owe. Uses 2026 thresholds, 2026 rates, aggregation with prior gifts since 5 December 1991, and any applicable reliefs. One master calculation sheet plus a per-beneficiary breakdown.

  2. IT38 Draft per beneficiary (PDF, one per beneficiary, up to 10 beneficiaries). Revenue's inheritance tax return, pre-filled for each person inheriting. Ready for them to transcribe into their own myAccount online IT38. Includes the filing deadline for their specific valuation date.

  3. Dwelling House Exemption Check (PDF + XLSX). tests whether the family home can pass tax-free under Section 86 CATCA 2003. The five-condition test (principal private residence + three years' residence as main home + no other dwelling + six years' retention + no other house from same disponer), the 65+ age waiver and employment/medical exception assessment, the documentary evidence list to support the claim, and the alternative reliefs to consider if not eligible. Often the single most valuable document in the pack.

  4. Section 72 Life Insurance Check (PDF + XLSX). if the person who died held life insurance, tests whether the proceeds qualify for Section 72 tax-free treatment. Flags the wording requirements for Section 72 policies that beneficiaries may want to consider for their own estates later.

  5. Agricultural Relief Assessment (PDF + XLSX). only if the estate includes farmland. Tests the 80% assets rule (before and after inheriting), the active farmer test or the six-year lease alternative, the six-year retention rule, and the CPO compensation edge cases. 90% value reduction if the conditions are met.

  6. Business Relief Assessment (PDF + XLSX). only if the estate includes business shares or business assets. Tests the qualifying property definition, the two-year pre-death ownership test, the trading-business test, the six-year retention rule. 90% value reduction if the conditions are met.

  7. Revenue Clearance Letter (DOCX template). pre-drafted letter requesting Revenue's formal clearance under Section 49 CATCA 2003 before you distribute the estate. This is your protection as executor: without clearance, you could be personally liable for any tax Revenue later discovers was unpaid. Most personal applicants skip this and then worry about it; the Complete Bundle makes it a three-minute task.

For more complex situations

  1. Foreign Assets Disclosure Prep (PDF). only if you indicated any overseas property, accounts, or pensions. Structured intake and a draft supplementary disclosure for the SA2. Clearly flagged: if the foreign property is substantial, consult a solicitor; this is preparation, not filing.

Extras

  1. 12-month re-download access. not 6. Beneficiary circumstances change (marriage, birth of a child, compulsory purchase order on their land) and affect their CAT position. Regenerate the affected sheets for a full year.

  2. 12 months of milestone emails. the full extended sequence. Beneficiary IT38 deadline reminders, Revenue clearance timing, estate closure sign-off, and the annual Budget update.

  3. Budget change alert. if the October Budget changes thresholds, rates, or reliefs after you buy, we email you a regenerated summary showing exactly how the change affects your family's tax position. This has real value: a Group A threshold increase of €50,000 is worth €16,500 in tax savings per child beneficiary.

  4. Annual tax-rate update. one full year of free updates to your files if Revenue changes anything material. One email, one click, your files are regenerated with the new figures.

Written in plain English

Every tax document has a one-page cover sheet that explains, in plain English, what relief it is testing and what it could save the family. We never assume you know what "Section 86" or "Section 72" means; we explain each one at the top of the relevant document.

The tax documents are written so a smart layperson can follow them. They are designed so that a beneficiary, or a solicitor reviewing the work, can see exactly how every figure was calculated.

The value

A single Dwelling House Exemption successfully claimed on a €500,000 Dublin property saves €33,000 in CAT.

An Agricultural Relief correctly claimed on €600,000 of farmland saves €178,200 in CAT.

A Revenue clearance letter means you can distribute the estate without worrying Revenue will come back to you personally years later.

€449 to get the tax part of probate right, on an estate likely facing a €15,000 to €80,000 CAT bill, is insurance at a very reasonable rate.

How it works

  1. Click the button below.
  2. Answer the full Complete Bundle questionnaire. Around 35 questions, takes 30 to 45 minutes. More detail is needed than the Preparation Pack because of the tax assessments. The form saves as you go, so you can pause and come back later.
  3. Pay €449 with card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Revolut via Stripe.
  4. Your pack arrives by email within minutes: numbered files, clearly labelled with which to read first and which apply only to your specific case.

Pairs with a Readiness Check

If you bought the Readiness Check (€79) first, you get €50 off the Complete Bundle, making your effective price €399. Look for the upgrade link in your Readiness Check delivery email, valid for 60 days. No code to remember.

What this is not

  • Not a substitute for a tax adviser on very complex estates. If the estate is above €2 million, involves trust structures, complex business arrangements, or non-resident beneficiaries, pair the Complete Bundle with a tax adviser for two or three hours' review of your work. Still far cheaper than outsourcing the whole thing.
  • Not a filed IT38. Each beneficiary files their own IT38 on Revenue's myAccount. The Complete Bundle gets each one ready to submit.
  • Not legal advice. It is professionally prepared written support for a personal probate application on an estate facing inheritance tax.

Refund policy

30-day refund for quality issues. If any calculation is clearly wrong, any relief assessment is unusable, or any file has a factual error, we fix it within 5 working days or refund in full. Since the pack is personalised and delivered immediately, there is no refund for "I changed my mind after receiving the files".

Full refund policy at /refund-policy/.

When you should use a solicitor instead

ProbatePack is preparation support for personal applicants with straightforward estates. Use a solicitor if any of these apply:

  • Disputes or disagreements between family members
  • Assets outside Ireland
  • Estate value above approximately €1 million
  • Business or agricultural property needing relief structuring
  • A contested will, or claims under Section 117 of the Succession Act
  • Minor or incapacitated beneficiaries
